5. Program Objectives

Goals of the program include:

1. Demonstrate a solid understanding of the mathematical foundations of data science, including linear algebra, calculus, probability theory, and statistical inference.
2. Apply their knowledge of data analysis and visualization using Python libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, and Matplotlib.
3. Perform data mining and machine learning tasks to solve real-world problems, including supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and computer vision.
4. Set up and deploy/manage big data and cloud computing environments, and process large datasets using distributed computing techniques. Develop a strong understanding of how data can drive business decisions, and communicate data insights effectively to stakeholders.
